People didn’t like her. A very determined person, she said people shouldn’t live past ninety and died at ninety years and 3 weeks. When she passed, family and mourners fell silent when asked to share a memory. I knew her less than others but I spoke first. She always wore beautiful well thought out outfits taking precious moments each morning deciding. Although she needed a walker because of several falls, she pushed it ahead of her like it was an unnecessary prop. Even a short story on elegance can prompt family to relate a positive memory and each person shared a memory. Small gems of warmth even for the crotchety.
