A father and daughter entered the care home together. He remained active and visited friends without her. The daughter was in a wheelchair and needed help with all care. Getting a twosome admitted requires overcoming certain obstacles. The daughter had care needs but she was too young, only forty eight. She did settle after a few months, but she did not like that she lived in a nursing home. Her mother had died recently so she only had her father to provide care. He could have coped a little longer but he wanted some time to himself in his final years. He wanted his daughter to settle before he died. She had time to transfer emotional needs to the carers. So don't judge. Care homes for the young will result in a better outcome.
