The Right Fit

She liked talking to the other residents and running errands for them. She had been a carer in her former life and wanted to feel useful. Sometimes she would bring other residents food they should not have. People started to her as being difficult. The other residents voted her off the residents’ committee. Staff complained and the manager avoided her. She didn't feel wanted. After a few months, her family, moved her to another home. We heard back that she had settled in well. They found a role for her so she felt useful. The manager set aside a time each day for them to talk. She loved her new home, she found people who cared about her.
