She’s back. Yes, she did enjoy her visit thanks. It was for her great granddaughter’s birthday party. She’s six today. Now she has returned for the evening meal. The outing has lifted her spirits and she laughs and has a quick dance with one of the male residents. After the meal, she sits in the lounge room watching TV. She starts to tune out. Maybe she has been tired out by the visit. Slowly she begins to slump and becomes less awake. We take her blood sugar level as soon as we realise. She’s diabetic and she does get drowsy if her sugar level is too high. The birthday food may have been too tempting. Yep her blood sugar is up. Okay, let’s undo the damage. She does love those sweets.
