Morning Routine

He is awake and ready for me. We have an hour and a half to get him ready to set off on his morning visit to the shops. He lives alone in his house and he had one person come in the morning and one at night. First his wash in bed and then he is dressed. The limbs are a little stiff so getting clothes over his head takes time. The overhead lifter can be used by one person. His frail frame makes it easy to move him about. He lands in his electric wheelchair without too much difficulty. Then breakfast which consists of a soft boiled egg after some cereal. When it is all set up he can eat by himself. He doesn’t say much so uses his eyes and makes noises to show he wants something. Then out on the porch ready for the bus to collect him. Plenty of time before it arrives.
