Busy Shopping

nThey start shopping early. She steps up onto the sidewalk and absent mindedly waits for him while she texts on her phone. Not once does she look up. He makes the first move to step up onto the path. He doesn’t quick get his foot up onto it. He looks up at her and sees she hasn’t noticed. He tries a second time and this time he makes it. He is not quite ready for a walking stick. Not yet.
